I did give my apologies prior to the day, having been requested to attend the occasion of a lady friend of mines 70th birthday do- Had I ended up in Barrow Jacks in the afternoon, ( or any other pub for that matter) by seven pm I would not have been in a fit state to get on the bus out of Whitehaven never mind attending a 7 o clock start.. birthday bash..
I can vouch for Helen being at the festival we were all together down town but we never saw anybody it was a shame you would have seen me on one of the rides with my grandaughter. As for the party Frank that is my kind of party but i havent been to one likr that for a while

And here was me Joan trying to shield you from the unsavoury realities of modern day shenanighans believing that cheap Tesco lager and vodka, boom boom music, intoxicated party goers and nutritian lacking nibbles would be an unsuitable evening for a Yorkshire lassie residing at Hensingham..how could I be so short sighted as to think that Hensingham had escaped the wanton frivolities of modern day Britain. Never mind Joan--if I reach 70 next year.(a proper do)..your invitation will be on top of the list
