Being held this Sunday is the annual Kirkbride Airfield Open Day and Fly-In. Held in association with Solway Light Aviation in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance. It's your chance to get up close and personal with the great world of light aviation and occaisionally something a bit meatier. This years star attractions are the Battle of Britain Memorial Flights DC-3 Dakota and The Aerostars Display Team (6 x Yak 50s). Other interesting types coming include 2 x Jet Provosts, 2 x Isaacs Furies (replica biplane 1920s fighters), a Soko Kraguj (yugoslavian ground attack plane), plus a host of microlights, autogyros, helicopters and the more familiar spam cans.
