George Benn Steele

I live in Wellington, New Zealand and I am trying to find family information about my great grandfather, George Benn Steele. The only information I have is that he was born in 1839 at Whitehaven, Cumbria, UK. He married my great grandmother on 17 August 1868 in Christchurch New Zealand. I would be grateful if anyone could help me.
