| I'm nightshift on Tuesday, but will be making a attempt to attend on Wednesday. Not sure about Whitehaven yet as it will be crawling with press. I'll maybe pop into Egremont instead. |

| To be honest they will have people at as many of these as possible so it may not be easy to keep away from the press. |

| I went out for a drive and stopped at 11.50 when 5Live crossed to broadcast events from St Nick's ... then several minutes quiet reflection till after the silence I found the car horns very moving. |

| There was quite a good attendance at St Nicholas gardens, and I believe the BBC news channel showed scenes at Millom,Seascale and Egremont. |

| I have to say that regardless of what you locals think of all the press intrusion now...they have certainly portrayed Cumbrian people as strong hearted, caring & very brave with a deep sense of community spirit which reinforces what I as a "Yorkie", already knew..... _________________ The mind will intellectualize it, the heart will emotionalize it, yet the gut never lies.....

| Attended St Nicholas gardens three very good speeches, especially the one by Geoge Clements. Very moving but intrusion by tv again. Will they leave now? |

| Whilst I agree with you about too much press intrusion, I have to say that I was grateful for the TV coverage of the service.
Being "chained" to our desks in Carlisle Castle, we, the staff of Cumbria Library Service HQ, were able to "partake" in the service and the silence with you all, via the internet and the BBC news channel.
