A large cruise liner is coming to Whitehaven on the 14th and 15th August.

'The World' sails, well.. worldwide!
Very Happy

It could be a Saga cruise ship for Franks 70th. Full of pensioners.

Its a mind boggling $1700 a day to be onboard. Thats for the basic, an apartment can set you back $4850 a day!

Now thats what you call cruising in style.

7 Days anyone???????????

Day Date Port Fares

1 14 Aug 2010 Whitehaven $4,850.00
2 15 Aug 2010 Whitehaven $4,850.00
3 16 Aug 2010 Liverpool $4,850.00
4 17 Aug 2010 Liverpool $4,850.00
5 18 Aug 2010 Liverpool $4,850.00
6 19 Aug 2010 Liverpool $4,850.00
7 20 Aug 2010 Greenock (Glasgow) $4,850.00
8 21 Aug 2010 Greenock (Glasgow) $0.00
Total: $33,950.00

Fares are in U.S. Dollars per night, per unit for 2 guests.

You could entertain a lady cruiser for about 50p!

The boat will look impressive anchored offshore. Hopefully this will be the sign of things to come. A feasability study was carried out to decide where ships should go to a few years ago - I think Barrow was chosen. Not much there though.

It'll really be up to these shipping lines - if they prefer Whitehaven, then the authorities will have to put their money deep into their pockets to get a few boats for ferrying passengers back and forth, or spend some cash on a pier out to deep water.

The deep water pier was suggested years ago to enable Marchon to use bigger boats.
It unfortunately never progressed any furthur than a suggestion.

They wouldn't pay me in lager bottle tops
Nowadays--they want at least a tenner, three half lagers, and a health and safety guarentee
