I don't believe that he knew what he was doing. He's flipped and then just went on a rampage. His mind will have been completely blank.

Bird took his own life... 3 hours searching for Bird... 30 different crime scenes... 12 people confirmed dead so far... 25 people receiving treatment... civil nuclear police assisted... investigation ongoing, including access to firearms and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

High number of calls to ambulance service... various hospitals used... air ambulances used - total of six in use... WC Hospital on standby for further casualties (until searches have been completed)... death toll may rise... three people critical.
